IN YEAR REVIEW (Fall 2021- Summer 2022)
The 2021 – 2022 academic year has been providing me a lot of learning and growing opportunities for me. I received scholarships from ASME (American Society Of Mechanical Engineers) and Phi Sigma Rho Sorority for community services and philanthropy.
In Fall 2021, I was an automation engineering coop at AstraZeneca, I have learned so much about robotics and automation, and the pharmaceutical industry. Outside work, I developed my passion for UX design and decided to complete my honor experience #02 in this topic. I completed a UX design certificate from Google via coursera and I won first place in a UX design innovation challenge hosted by 1819 innovation and SOL by Jerkens. I also participated in several more innovation challenges and I learned so much and gained connections with the professionals in this field. I really like UX design and I could see myself doing it for a living. I created my other online portfolio specially for UX design and projects that I worked on. Feel free to check it out at www.pinkyarun.com I hope I could use this as a showcase for my skills and ability for ux design and technology and hopefully I can land a job in the tech industry after I graduate.
In Spring 2022, I was back in school, I have a lot of classes load, school was tough for me and I also worked part time at Bearcat Promise Career studio as a Peer Career Coach for my honor experience #03. I helped students with resumes, cover letters, mock interviews etc. and I plan to go back and work there in fall 2022 again because I love helping other students and I love all my coworkers. I also started to be involved with more organizations like UC entrepreneur club and UC Crypto club. I made so many new friends and I got to know so many successful business people. Lastly, I participated in a Fashion Hackathon at Kent State University with my friend and we won first place!
This year was full of interesting journeys. I'm still discovering new things about myself and who I want to become when I grow up. I also realized that having good mental health is very important and we shouldn't ignore any sign from you or other people that they need help. It's okay to feel not to be okay. And getting help from a professional and changing your lifestyle to feel better is very important. For me, having good mental health is very important as much as becoming successful or winning any award. I’m still learning to become better at self-care and balance my life, it is very difficult for me but I believe it’s the key to having good mental health and being ready to take on more challenging experiences in the future.
